June 2009: Uganda
By Nick Bennett 26, June, 2009

We’re off! The project has begun. And the whole community, both young and old alike, start digging.
The project has started and the whole community, both young and old alike, begin digging the foundations for the school. Everyone’s invited to help we need to sow a sense of ownership in the local community – after all, the people of Buikwe will be the project’s key advocates and drivers.
It takes a couple of days to dig the foundations, before concrete is poured into the trenches to settle into a solid platform for the school. Once it has dried, and the base has been laid, the real work starts. We can’t wait.
